CEMIL TURAN is having an outstanding rookie season for the Wave with 10 goals on the season, even though the team struggled to an 0-3 mark last week. The Staten Island resident scored seven total goals tallying in all three contests, including an amazing four-goal performance against Westchester CC to begin the week and a two-goal game against CUNYAC rival Borough of Manhattan to conclude the week. This week, KCC will face Bronx in another Conference matchup.

Bronx Community College freshman runner ASHLEY ARMAND won the Hunter College Meet at Van Cortlandt Park this past Sunday, besting 123 collegiate runners in an outstanding 24:33. Two weeks earlier at VCP, the product of Martin Van Buren High School in Queens had a silver medal finish with a 25:40 time, meaning in two week’s time, she ran over a full minute faster on the same course. The time fromthis past weekend was well ahead of Claudette Hetmeyer’s (BCC) CUNYAC Community College Championship mark set in 2008.
