CUNYAC / EMBLEM HEALTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Christina Pierre

Baruch College • Senior / Middle Blocker / Aquinas HS / Bronx, NY

Pierre, a Bronx native became a CUNYAC 1st team All-Star in her first year at Baruch

in 2009 after transferring from nearby Mount St. Vincent College. The 5'11" senior is

ready to pace the Bearcats if the opening of the season is any indication. While the team

lost their opener, the Bearcats went 2-1 over the weekend, beating McDaniel and

Marymount in three games, before falling to Randolph in a five-set thriller.

In the McDaniel victory, Pierre notched 17 kills and two blocks, then in the nail-biter

versus Randolph, the middle hitter tallied 16 kills and two blocks. For the week,

she had 49 kills (3.5 per game) and eight blocks (0.6). This Saturday, Baruch will take

on Hunter in both teams' Conference openers at the CUNYAC Multi-Match at York (9 am).
