CUNYAC/Con Edison Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

CHRISTINE LUEBCKE, Hunter

Hunter College senior Christine Luebcke has been named CUNYAC/Con Edison Women's Volleyball Player of the Week as announced by the conference earlier this afternoon.

Luebcke helped guide the Hawks to a perfect 4-0 performance last week, including a pair of victories against CUNYAC foes Medgar Evers and York College. The senior registered 35 kills and hit .313 en route to capturing the weekly accolade. Luebecke also managed two assists and seven service aces during that timeframe, keeping the Hawks to their fifth-straight victory.
 
Luebcke and the Hawks return to action this Thursday, when they host St. Joseph's College – Long Island. The game will be played in the Hunter College Sportsplex and is slated to start at 6pm.

CUNYAC/Con Edison Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Outside Hitter/Freshman/Cerritos, CA/Cerritos

Baruch freshman Jessica Wu began the week by notching six kills and digs in the team’s 3-0 sweep at Rutgers-Newark (10/4), and then followed up two days later against Rutgers-Camden (10/6) at home with seven aces, including five straight to end the second set, to give the Bearcats another 3-0 sweep against competition from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).

She continued her solid play on Columbus Day at the CUNYAC Multi-Match by recording 11 kills (.529) and digs each in a 3-0 sweep of John Jay, and in the second match against Lehman she tallied seven more kills to help the team improve to 5-1 in the CUNYAC standings.
