CUNYAC/Con Edison Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
JESSICA DULEBA, Baruch
Guard/5-foot-8/Junior/Commerce Twp, MI/Lakeland
Baruch guard, Jessica Duleba averaged 18.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 steals during a 2-1 week for the Bearcats. In a victory against Stevens Tech (Nov. 15), the Michigan native netted 15 points on 6 for 10 shooting from the field and grabbed five rebounds. The junior knocked down all three of her field goal attempts in a win against Wittenberg (Nov. 18), where she was also 8-9 at the free throw line and scored a total of 19 points. She followed those performances with a double-double with her week high of 20 points and 10 rebounds in a competitive game against Rochester (Nov. 19). For her efforts in the Chuck Resler Tip-Off Tournament, Duleba earned All-Tournament Team Honors.
CUNYAC/Con Edison Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
NICOLE FRANCOMANO, Brooklyn
Guard/5-foot-6/Freshman/Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa
Nicole Francomano earns the first Rookie of the Week nod following a 3-0 week for the Bulldogs. The freshman guard averaged 11.7 points, 3.7 assist, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per contest, while also shooting 6 for 11 from 3-point range (.545). In her first game of the season, Francomano led her Brooklyn team with 15 points, three assists and three steals in a victory over The King’s College (Nov. 15) . The very next day, the Staten Island native registered a solid seven points and four assists in the Bulldogs’ second victory of the week against Farmingdale State (Nov. 16). In a 70-31 victory at the College of Rochelle (Nov. 17), Francomano put up 13 points along with four assists and three steals.
