The Bearcats only managed to squeeze in a doubleheader last Sunday, earning a split with Conference rival John Jay, but Daly, a senior right fielder had his swing in midseason form. The Valley Stream, NY native went 3-3 from the plate, scored one run and brought in one more in an 8-6 loss to John Jay...In the second game of the doubleheader, he went 4-4 from the plate knocked in six RBI's, while scored two runs in a 9-2 victory...In Baruch's two games of the week Daly totaled three runs, seven RBI's with impressive .714 batting average.

Senior left-handed starter James Mardikos has been super for Staten Island so far this season, sporting a 1.48 earned run average and a 2-1 mark, following his one winning appearance last week. The Petrides High School graduate took the hill In CUNYAC action, on March 27th versus Lehman and was spectacular. Throwing shutout ball for six full innings, yielding only three hits and one walk with seven strikeouts, 'Mardy on the Mound' got the decision in the 13-4 win for the Dolphins (9-6), who have now won eight straight games.

CUNYAC/MCU Baseball Rookie of the Week

Staten Island's first-year starting shortstop is starting to be a regular in the Rookie of the Week spot, winning his second straight honor to start the season. Last week, as the Dolphins raced to a 5-0 week, the Tottenville High School alum was 5-14 (.357) at the dish and had five walks as well, for a .417 on base percentage. He also scored five runs and had five runs batted in. He actually drove in one run in each of the five games last week and had at least one hit in each of last four games. The Dolphins have six non-conference games on tap over the next nine days before returning to CUNYAC play.
