CUNYAC/EmblemHealth Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

MALLORY GRUBLER, Hunter
Middle Blocker/Senior/Bayside, NY/Cardozo

The CUNY Athletic Conference announced today that senior Mallory Grubler has been named Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.  The Hawks won all nine sets of their three matches played last week, including victories over CUNYAC rivals City College of New York and Baruch College.  Hitting .390 for the week, Grubler slammed nine kills on .421 hitting against NYU-Poly and added a .400 hitting performance against CCNY. She saved her best performance for last, as she drilled 14 kills against Baruch on .367 hitting. Playing in all nine sets this week, she made only six attack errors in nearly sixty chances.

CUNYAC/EmblemHealth Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week

PAULINA JOBCZYK, Hunter
Outside Hitter/Freshman/Middle Village, NY/Francis Lewis

Paulina Jobczyk has been named Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.  Jobczyk make her presence felt in the very first CUNYAC match of her career, registering seven kills on .333 in her conference debut against CCNY. She rose to the challenge of facing Baruch on their home court, connecting on 15 kills for the match.  Hunter (4-3, 2-0 CUNYAC) is back in action tonight as they head to the Bronx to face CUNYAC rival Lehman College.
