CUNYAC/EmblemHealth Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week

KATINA BOUTIS, Hunter
Setter/Senior/Pilot Mountain, NC/Francis Lewis

The CUNY Athletic Conference has announced that setter Katina Boutis has been named the CUNYAC / EmblemHealth Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. The senior from Pilot Mountain, NC tallied 30 assists against Lehman College and 33 against Rutgers-Newark - leading the Hawks to victories in both matches. Hunter has now won five straight matches, due in part to Boutis' outstanding efforts running the offense. Hunter (6-3, 3-0 CUNYAC) returns to action at the Hunter Sportsplex tomorrow night to host John Jay College at 6:00pm.

CUNYAC/EmblemHealth Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week

JESSICA WU, Baruch
Outside Hitter/Freshman/Cerritos, CA/Cerritos

Already a two-time winner of this award, Jessica Wu helped lead the Bearcats to a 2-0 week with a Conference sweep of CCNY and a blowout win over SUNY-Old Westbury. The freshman from Southern California notched eight kills and five service aces in an easy victory over CCNY. Then she tallied 11 kills and four service aces in a three set sweep over SUNY-Old Westbury. For the week she tallied 19 kills, nine service aces with .333 hitting percentage.
