IVAN SRDANOVIC, Lehman

Ivan Srdanovic swims his way to the top athlete of the week honor after recording two top place finishes in Lehman’s lone win of the week against conference opponent Staten Island (Jan. 21). The junior from the Bronx placed first in the 200-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 1:53.82. He went on to finish the 100-yard freestyle in 49.30 getting him another first place individual finish. Srdanovic went on to swim in the 200-yard medley relay finishing 2nd with a time of 1:43.03.

 

CUNYAC/Applebee’s Men’s Swimming Rookie of the Week

TIMUR RAKHIMOV, Staten Island

Freshman/Ekaterinburg, Russia/Gimnazium 144

Rookie Timur Rakhimov registered five first place finishes in the Dolphins’ 0-2 week against Division II Adelphi and conference rival Lehman. Against Adelphi (Jan. 17), the freshman finished first in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:36.38 and the 200 breaststroke (2:08.40). Rakhimov went on to place first in three events in the conference matchup against Lehman (Jan. 21) in which he placed first in the 200 yard medley relay (1:38), 1000 freestyle (10:47.30) and 100 breaststroke (58.99).
