Daly, Izarra & Perez Take Home Honors

CUNYAC/MCU Baseball Player of the Week

THOMAS DALY, Baruch

Outfielder/Senior/Valley Stream, NY/Kellenberg

In his second player of the week honor, Thomas Daley went 16-for-30 from the plate this week with a .533 batting average totaling 13 RBI’s and 14 runs scored. Against Manhattanville, Daley went 4-for-5 from the plate, notching six RBI’s, scoring three runs and three stolen bases in the 11-12 loss. The senior followed that performance going 3-for-4, scoring another three runs and two RBI’s in the first victory over CCNY. In the second game of the conference doubleheader Daley went 5-for-6 from the plate, scoring four runs and notching three RBI’s in the 20-13 win against the Beavers. In a win over Lehman, he notched two RBI’s and two stolen bases.  

 

CUNYAC/MCU Baseball Pitcher of the Week

JESUS IZARRA, Baruch

Pitcher/Senior/Carcas, Venezuela/Josefa Irausquin Lopez

Jesus Izarra is named the CUNYAC/MCU Pitcher of the Week after his efforts for the Bearcats in the victory over Lehman. The senior threw a complete game against the Lightning walking only one batter while striking out four on the way to another conference win for Bearcats, to secure their current standings as undefeated in conference play.

 

CUNYAC/MCU Baseball Rookie of the Week

PAUL PEREZ, Baruch

Pitcher-Infielder/Freshman/Middle Village, NY/St. John Prep

Over two games, Paul Perez pitched 9.2 innings, striking-out seven batters, giving up no earn runs with a perfect ERA giving him the CUNYAC weekly rookie honor. The freshman first started his week pitching 1.2 innings in relief against Manhattanville, striking out two of their batters. Perez then logged 8.0 innings against striking out five batters giving up no earn runs in the conference victory over Lehman.
