Brooklyn's Isaakov and Baruch's Lau Snag Weekly Awards

Jacky Lau has been named the CUNYAC/Emblem Health Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for the week of 1/14 - 1/20. The Brooklyn native continued his brilliant rookie season by breaking his own school and personal record in the 100 Meter backstroke with a first place time of 1:03.21 against Lehman. The freshman also posted two other first place finishes in the 100 Meter Individual Medley and 200 Meter Freestyle Relay with a finish of 2:16.39 and 1:38.90, respectively. This is the sixth time Lau has won an award during the 2012-2013 season.

Emil Isaakov, Brooklyn

Emil Isaakov has been named the CUNYAC/Emblem Health Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week for the week of 1/14-1/20. The freshman had a solid performance against Purchase posting three first place finishes. The Brooklyn native was the first to touch the wall in the 100 Yard Butterfly and 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:03.89 and 1:10.19, respectively. Isaakov was a member of the foursome in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and swam third with a time of 2:11.48. This is the second straight week Isaakov has won a weekly award.
