Granville Gittens has been named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of 1/28 – 2/3. In three conference victories, the sophomore averaged a double-double with 20.3 points, 11 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks in 32 minutes of play. The forward/center shot 48.8% from the field and went an impressive 20-20 from the free-throw line. In a 69-53 win over CCNY, the Brooklyn native netted 29 points on 7-13 shooting, recorded 16 rebounds, two steals and one block. He also went 15-15 from the charity stripe. The Bearcats are now 11-2 in the conference and 15-6 overall.

Egzon Gjonbalaj has been named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week of 1/28 – 2/3. The Brooklyn native had another solid performance in three wins against conference opponents. The freshman started in all three games, averaging 18.7 points, five rebounds, two assists, 2.7 steals and 2.3 blocks in 36 minutes. The guard shot 44.4% (20-45) from the field, 42.9% from behind the arc, and 53.8% (7-13) from the free-throw line. In a 85-78 win over the Lightning, Gjonbalaj scored 18 points on 9-15 shooting, recorded six rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals. This is the second straight week Gjonbalaj has won this award. Brooklyn improved their conference record to 6-6.
