Baruch's Steven Coniglio Member of USA Div. III National Volleyball Team in Brazil

Steven Coniglio, a junior on the Baruch College men's volleyball team, is currently traveling in Brazil with the USA Div. III National Volleyball Team.

Coniglio joined the team for orientation on June 10 in Orlando, Florida, and traveled on June 11 to Brazil for matches in the regions of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The team will return to the United States on June 18.

Coniglio finished a fantastic junior season by being named the MVP of the CUNYAC and ECAC, along with winning the Elite 89 Academic Award for the second straight year with the highest GPA at the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship.

He was also named a Second Team Division III All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

In addition to competing in volleyball, the team will also enjoy cultural aspects of Brazilian life through various educational and sports club visits.

"I am very excited to travel to Brazil and play against some incredible teams," said Coniglio. "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am looking forward to the educational experiences off the court."
