CSI's Mulla Returns While Baruch's Jackson-Hing Repeats

Madiha Mulla has been named the CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of 9/9 - 9/15. The 2012 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year has picked up where she left off with a 3-0 singles record to begin the season. In a thrilling 5-4 win over Farmingdale State, the Staten Island native won at #5 singles 6-4, 6-4 before teaming with Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert to take second flight doubles 8-0. The Susan Wagner graduate followed up that performance with a 6-1, 6-1 victory versus CCNY's fourth flight singles competitor. Once again teaming with Bragerton-Nasert, she capped the week at #1 doubles with an 8-2 victory as CSI won 9-0.
 
CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week
Allie Jackson-Hing, Baruch
#1-#1/Freshman/Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Tech

Allie Jackson-Hing has been named the CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Women’s Rookie of the Week for the week of 9/9 - 9/15. This marks her second consecutive week winning the award. The rookie is bursting onto the scene with an undefeated mark thus far in both singles and doubles; all at the first flight. Beginning the week against CUNYAC opponent Lehman, the Brooklyn native took down the Lightning's number one 6-0, 6-0. In doubles, she teamed with Amandine Le Goupil-Maier to take first flight doubles 8-0. Against a solid Farmingdale State squad, the Brooklyn Tech graduate was victorious 6-2, 6-4 over their #1 singles competitor. With Le Goupil-Maier, Jackson-Hing finished her week 8-2 in first flight.

The Bearcats started their CUNYAC schedule by defeating Lehman, 9-0. They did suffer a frustrating 5-4 defeat to Farmingdale State, which is the only blemish on the season so far. The Bearcats have also had a ton of players playing this season, giving the team plenty of depth.

The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis team posted a 2-0 record this past week with wins over the College of New Rochelle (9-0) and Sarah Lawrence College (7-2).

Hunter’s Jane Selegean won (6-3, 6-3) against Ramapo at 1st singles in an 8-1 loss to the Roadrunners on Wednesday, September 11th. Lehman women's tennis opened conference play last week, falling to Baruch 9-0. Later in the week, the Lightning lost to Pratt, 7-2. In that match, Lehman's two wins were historic, as they were the first wins at Lehman for junior Jhanelle Mullings and freshman Kantomalala Rasedoara (Antananarivo, Madagascar/Newcomers). Rasedoara won at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-1, with Mullings at sixth singles, 6-4, 6-4.

The Dolphins are 3-0 scoring a pair of come-home behind victories over William Paterson and Farmingdale. In their CUNYAC debut they defeated CCNY this week, 9-0.
