Baruch, CSI and Stevens Take Home Weekly Baseball Accolades

Zachary Uher has been named the CUNYAC/MCU Player of the Week for the week of 3/24 to 3/30. The junior went 1-2 from the plate, notching 2 RBI including a game-winner while also drawing two walks in a win versus Mt. St. Vincent. Uher logged 7 innings earning a no-decision in a tough battle against Rutgers-Newark.

Chris Falcone has been named the CUNYAC/MCU Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of 3/24 to 3/30. The left-hander pitched a complete-game four-hitter against Lehman. He was touched for 2 runs on 4 hits in the very first inning, then settled to throw 6 scoreless and hitless innings, striking out 15 Lehman batters. The 15 strikeouts are the 4th-highest  single game total in CSI history.

Zeph Walters has been named the CUNYAC/MCU Rookie of the Week for the week 3/24 to 3/30. The rookie earned his second victory of the season in a 6-2 victory at William Paterson on March 27th. Walters tossed 5 inningd snf scattered 3 hits with 3 strikeouts. He also went 1-for-4 at the plate with a run scored.

Baruch Bearcats

Ryan Smith earned his third win in relief and Zachary Uher had the winning RBI to score Nicholas Pomo-Roman in the sixth inning to lead the Bearcats to a 2-1 victory over Mount Saint Vincent. In the next game Baruch dropped a close contest to Rutgers-Newark, with Rutgers scoring their go-ahead run in the 9th inning to notch victory. Their next two contest versus John Jay and Ramapo were postponed due to rain. The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, April 1st, against New Jersey City University, first pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.

CSI Dolphins

CSI had all but one game this week washed out due to the weather. The lone game was an 8-2 win over Lehman in what was supposed to be a doubleheader, but the second game of that matchup was also washed away. CSI has a busy week, with single games against Kean University, CCNY, and Lehman followed by a weekend doubleheader against Vaughn College.

John Jay Bloodhounds

Lehman Lightning

Lehman dropped a pair of games last week, and had one rainout. The second game of the doubleheader with Staten Island has been moved to 4/3. The Lightning also have a three-game set with John Jay slated for the weekend.

Stevens Ducks

Stevens went 1-0 this week with a 6-2 win at William Paterson on March 27. The Ducks were scheduled to play four games against No. 20/22 St. John Fisher over the weekend but all games were postponed.
